Sciencewise has negotiated a 'guest' session for one hour in Civil Service Learning training for Policy Profession (PP) and Fast Stream (FS) civil servants, on the following one day courses on Open and Collaborative Policy Making, as follows:

•  12 Jan 2015. PP, Home Office, Sheffield.
•  19 Jan 2015. PP, Home Office, London
•  18 Mar 2015. FS, London.
•  1 APril 2015. PP, London.
•  20 May 2015. FS, Birmingham
•  17 June 2015. FS, London
•  2 July 2015. PP, London

The training is delivered by Amy Pollard and Reema Patel. It provides an introduction to Sciencewise and two case studies, followed by Q & A, reflections on relevance for participants, and info on further support from Sciencewise.

Where a department is specified, that is a closed session for them; others are open to all departments. The courses expect to attract up to 20 people. Contact details are being collected, and feedback forms are being completed.

The Sheffield event (12 Jan) attracted 6 participants. Positive feedback, with 4 out of 5 respondents to the survey rating the session as Very Good/Excellent. All respondents said they would recommend a similar event to a colleague.

Richard Hillsdon (trainer employed by Civil Service Learning) said that he thought the Sciencewise training session was very interesting and we'd been good to work with, and that he would recommend to Civil Service Learning that we continue this arrangement.
